Nutella Crepes

Nutella Crepes

The other day Max and I run out of breakfast and were too lazy to go out and get something. It will never happen that our day starts with no breakfast so I made crepes, with nutella filling :)

This is a fast and easy to make recipe, perfect to start your day or to close a romantic dinner and impress your loved one ;)

The following ingredients make 3 crepes of 7″.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour (60 gr)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 2/3 cup milk (150 ml)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 tbs butter
  • 6 tbs nutella
  • powdered sugar
  • rice krispies, chopped walnuts or your favorite topping

Directions

Prepare the batter by mixing with a mixer, or beating well, the flour, eggs, milk and one small pinch of salt. The batter will be more liquid than the one for pancakes. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Batter

Heat a 7″ pan, melt 1/2 tbs of butter, spread the butter around (picture 1) and pour one ladle almost full of batter (2), the batter will spread and cover the entire bottom of the pan (3).

Cook for few minutes, when the crepe looks firm (4) flip over (it should look lightly brown as shown in picture 5). While the crepe is cooking spread the nutella, 2 spoonful per crepe. With the heat the nutella will soon melt and become easily spreadable (6). Add your topping, rice krispies and chopped walnuts are my favorites (7).

Remove from heat, fold in half, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve (8). You can also decorate with some whipped cream ;)

Nutella Crepes Steps

Repeat the entire procedure for each crepe, starting from melting 1/2 tbs of butter.

If you’d like to increase the dose, double the eggs but keep using only 1 additional egg white. E.g. for 6 crepes use 2 eggs and 1 egg white.

  1. So I tried this crepes recipe on Mother’s Day but instead of Nutella I used a filling made of vanilla flavored yogurt, granola, pineapple and strawberries. They were delicious and perfect for the occasion. :-)

  2. What a great variation! I am glad you tried one of my recipes for such a special day :)

  3. They were the best crepes ever :D
