A short trip to a foodie’s dream city

Where?

What comes to mind when I say: Éclair, macaron, madeleine, crêpe and bourguignon?

La Ville-Lumière, the city of lights, Paris!

I can’t wait to write about this trip!

I have already bookmarked this list of the best pastry shops in Paris, and I am so looking forward to try each one of the suggested best of the best. The hubby calculated that it would mean 3 pastry shops per day: I can do it!

I am also scouting the web for suggestions of good authentic restaurants (possibly on a budget) along with shops for good cheese and wine. But I am fairly confident you can’t really go wrong in Paris.

Have you been to Paris? Do you have suggestions?

I will soon report back on my favorites!

  1. Rue Saint Severin, very close to the Ile de la Cite, by the Seine, the restaurant Tango du Chat, eat there Soup a l’Oignon gratinee (Baked onion soup), it is first cooked then baked with cheese and bread. It was absolutely delicious :). Have a nice stay there, Paris is a beautiful city. We spent there with Bogusia two weeks, we did not have time to be bored….

    • Got it, it’s on my list now! You spent two weeks in Paris? Like a dream come true, I could totally hit all the pastry shops if I had two weeks, plus the wine, the bread the cheese, OK, let’s stop there or I’ll cry :P

  2. Yes, I had the opportunity to participate in academic teachers exchange between our University and Ecole des Mines in Paris and Fontainebleau. We have also other opportunities of exchange and cooperation, e.g. student scholarships in corporations funded by EU. Some of our students might be eager to spend some time at your company in Berlin – if that would ever be interesting for you, just let me know.

Regarding France I spend week or two every year or two there using LLP Erasmus exchange. Last time I visited Marseille and vicinity. The country is great and the food and wine is delicious :).

We also used LLP Erasmus to visit Modena (and eat mortadela there, oh yeah!).

    • Wow, an amazing opportunity! Also a good advertisement for your University in Poland ;)
